It’s so gosh darn hard to get out of the house!
These are the websites I use to find senior-friendly events. My family’s got special needs because my dad’s pretty advanced in his disease.

I don’t use Facebook, but my mom does. I’ve got to hand it to her, Facebook is one of the best places to find local happenings and local services you can’t find at businesses by the highway.
For seniors, the Gratiot County Commission on Aging’s Facebook Page is an essential place to find upcoming activities where seniors and their families can get together.
Gratiot County Happenings Facebook Page isn’t particularly tailored to seniors, but most happenings in this county are friendly for all ages, and this page is a great source for that!
Not all activities promoted by the government are as boring as a board meeting. These local listing websites (run by tax payer’s dollars) are another good source for activities around Gratiot Country which welcome the community.
In addition, for you extra outgoing types, a 2019 MDHHS PDF lists phone numbers for six senior activity centers operating in Gratiot County.

Ithaca, Alma, St. Louis and other cities put forms online you can fill out to reserve a park or pavilion or shelter in the area. There are Gratiot County Parks outside city lines you can reserve too.
For a Michigan summer barbecue outdoor activity, one of those parks with the barbecue pits built right in, that sounds just right.
In addition to “Parks”, you can also register “Special Events” in other venues.
