Luneack Landing, as the Panthers and Scotts call it, is Alma, Michigan’s lesser-known waterfront public park.
It was designed as part of a series of Pine River kayak docs, and I’m telling you today, it’s a good spot in Southside Alma for nice nature and chillin’ out family fun.
According to the City of Alma Parks Master Plan PDF, the Luneack County Park is located on 5000 Luce Road and provides a canoe and kayak launch on the Pine River canoe trail.
So I went to check it out, and found much more potential for on-land activities.
Activities welcome at Luneack County Park include parking your car, river-watching, fishing, having a picnic, grilling in the park, and small-area lawn sports.
Since the park sits on the south-east-side of the Pine River, it’s a wonderful spot to watch the sunset in the west. The riverside has trees and vegetation which blow lightly in the wind. Across the river are three or four beautiful home of Alma Michigan residents who enjoy a relaxing riverside lifestyle.
The park is ADA accessible because there’s a handicapper parking spot, with a curved sidewalk leading all the way down to the riverbank, a pavilion with picnic tables to protect from hot summer sunshine, and street lamps for after sundown as the park closes down.
Getting together at the park is an activity for family members of all ages to enjoy. For organized family events, you can reserve the park by contacting the City of Alma.
