Sit on a wheelchair cushion within your budget to increase comfort, assist with mobility needs, and prevent skin conditions caused by too much pressure.
Please evaluate the wheelchair dimensions before buying a cushion for it.

Purchasing a wheelchair seat cushion is the exact same measure, because a cushion that doesn’t fit properly can increase pain, worsen pressure sores, or have other negative effects.
A wheelchair seat’s thickness adds padding for comfort, but also increases the seat height. A seat height between 19 and 21 inches up from the floor fits most adults. Just make sure added seat height doesn’t prevent certain movements or reduce balance while seated.
A wheelchair cushion should be as thick as needed to maintain comfort, protect skin, and support circulation. Gel seats are typically 2-4 inches thick. Supracor Stimulite is a premium gel cushion at 3.5 inches thick. Foam cushions run a broader range from 1 to 6 inches thick. ROHO air cushion is 3 inches thick.

Foam is the earliest and used to be most common. Gel distributes pressure and heat better than foam, so is now most common. Air is new and tech advanced, but less common because air wheelchair cushions are so expensive and high-maintenance.
