NYMI SOJO is who told the world about an invisible army of Caregivers on the Front Lines
Has it ever happened when you're at the supermarket and you run into the perfect stranger, the exact person you would want to be if you could be brains, beauty, wealth, popularity, whatever it is that you wish other people thought of you deep down.
Graycare (graycare.net) met that person today, and it's the NYMI SOJO (nymisojo.com). My first ever impression was that NYMI SOJO is a cute acronym. As a caregiver for my dad with dementia, i've seen my fair share of ugly acronyms. This one looks like the Guggenheim.
The acronym stands for the New York and Michigan Solutions Journalism Collaborative.
Oddly specific and curiously refreshing, linking the states of New York and Michigan into a pair in pursuit of justice and quality of life.
If you're looking for stories on family caregivers in Michigan and around the Midwest, especially in urban centers, then you'll enjoy NYMI SOJO's dozens of features stories with photos inside real Michigan homes with caregiving.
If you're looking for a caregiver resource guide, then NYMI SOJO's offers a less-is-more guide "For All Caregivers of The Elderly" with location-specific resources for Michigan. Really great stuff.

NYMI SOJO posts videos and other content to their Facebook Page, for example as part of their Caregivers on the Frontlines campaign, or Twitter for your chatter birds out there.
Thanks to all the kind, smart folks who put it together!
