"End Game" the movie puts you in touch with death as an inevitable human truth. It's a docufilm about the sick people who are under the care of palliative care. Most are faced with cancer or other terminal diseases. The film is heart wrenching.

Most of the footage documents interactions between palliative care professional staff and the families and patients facing the afterlife.

It's available on Netflix now, here.

"End Game" is on Netflix as of 2022

It's opened my eyes to the perspective of palliative care. Helping people live as well as possible for as long as possible.

My family is lucky enough to manage a slowly debilitating disease. Our dad's gonna be around for a while. I'm interested to apply the principles of palliative care to my families situation.

My Non-Professional Palliative Care First-Impression Summary:

  • Help people live as well as possible for as long as possible
  • Care includes the patient and the close ones
  • Include close members in decision making, and think: "What would the sick person do for themselves if they could make the decision?"
  • Sickness and death is a human condition
  • A holistic approach to sickness and death includes medical, emotional, interpersonal, legal, financial, and whole basket of difficult decisions to make
