Connecting your new Echo device to WiFi start before Amazon’s smiley package arrives at your doorstop.
After you add an Echo to your cart, a special checkbox that “links this Echo device to your account” should be checked automatically.
That’s right!
When you checkout on Amazon, that’s when you check the box to link your Echo to your account.
When it arrives, you just need to plug it in and open up the Alexa App on your phone.
When your Alexa App uses the same account as your Amazon Shopping App (and that box was checked), then your Alexa App will connect your Echo device to WiFi automatically.
That’s because Alexa App knows your WiFi password, so helpful Alexa connects new Alexa-enabled devices to the internet when she can.
You just follow the prompts on the screen. That simple.
But what if you forgot the checkbox and it's arrived already?
You’ll need the Alexa App on your phone. Go into its settings, specifically the “Device Settings”. Assuming the Echo is already added your Alexa device to your Alexa App, then you just need to tap “Change” then “WiFi Network” to pick a new network and enter credentials.
Plug the Echo device into the electricity, then first try going into Alexa App’s Device tap to tap the plus (+) icon and pick the Device type you want to add.
If that doesn’t work, try long pressing the main button on your echo device until the color turns They say a spinning teal light means your Echo is starting up and it’ll turn turn orange when it's ready to setup with your Alexa App.
